Supported Local Organizations

Wilmington Kiwanis established a Community Outreach Committee of Members with the purpose of supporting local organizations who share our mission of helping local youth. Our current organizations are CASA, Clinton County Youth Council, Jobs & Family Services and Harvest of Gold. Learn more about their organizations below!

CASA Mission

The mission of the Clinton County CASA Program is to recruit, train, guide, monitor and maintain qualified volunteers to advocate for the best interest of children who are before the Court as a result of abuse, neglect, or dependency as defined by the state child welfare laws. CASA/GAL volunteers serve as an independent voice throughout the juvenile court proceedings, until a safe and permanent home is found for the child.

Kiwanis Support

Kiwanis' main support for CASA is to advocate and spread the word of their purpose. We coordinated with the Aktion Club to have activity packets created for volunteers to take and share with the children. We have recently raised money and donated gas cards for volunteers who have to travel outside Clinton County to check on kids who have moved from home.

Want to become a CASA volunteer?

CASA volunteers work an average of 8 hours/month. This includes all travel, court appointments and child visits. All volunteers will go through a 30+ hour training to cover expectations and policies. Anyone over 18 years old, who has a passion for helping children, can apply to become a CASA volunteer.

CCYC Mission

Help youth make healthy decisions.

Clinton County's only FREE after-school youth center. Providing academic support, positive programming, and mentoring for youth in grades 6-12

Kiwanis Support

Kiwanis has worked closely with CCYC director, Eric Guindon to help meet his students' need. The biggest project, so far, has been helping to establish year-round swim lessons in Clinton County for all youth. We have also assisted with grant writing, community service days, and other odds & ends jobs Eric finds he can delegate. Our goal is to create more time for Eric and his staff to focus on the students of CCYC.

How can I help?

Follow CCYC on Facebook and watch for upcoming community service days that support their property and the surrounding community. Ask us for a list of items that are currently being collected for the students.

ODJFS Mission

The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) develops and supervises the state's public assistance, workforce development, unemployment compensation, child and adult protective services, adoption, child care, and child support programs.

This is a new program that Kiwanis is showing support for. Right now, we  are working to collect items for a back to school drive sponsored by Jobs and Family Services. Our objective is to provide support to an organization who is overwhelmed by the number of families in need. If we can help in any way to allow more support to the families, we have reached our goal.

I want to help!

There are infinite ways to help Jobs and Family Services. Check with us for volunteer opportunities and items to donate!
